Professional Impact NJ is pleased to offer the CDA Assessment Fee Financial Assistance Program, funded by the NJ Department of Human Services™ Division of Family Development.  Registered family child care providers, head teachers, group teachers, assistant teachers, and afterschool providers in the field of early care and education who are working toward their CDA Credential may apply for financial assistance.  If eligible, a voucher will be sent to the candidate to mail to the Council for Professional Recognition along with the CDA Direct Assessment application.  For detailed information on the CDA, contact the Council for Professional Recognition at (800) 424-4310 or go to www.cdacouncil.org.

Eligibility Guidelines:

  1. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or GED.
  2. Applicants must be employed as a registered family child care provider, head teacher, group teacher, assistant teacher, or afterschool provider in the field of early care and education. Volunteers and public school employees are not eligible.
  3. Applicants must be members of the NJ Registry for Childhood Professionals at www.pinjregistry.org and must remain an active member to receive funding. 
  4. Applicant must submit all required documentation in order to complete the application for financial assistance.
  5. Applicants must submit proof of education, such as copy of high school diploma or official college transcripts of highest degree completed (see under "My Resources", "Submit Training") to qualify for funding.
  6. CDA training must be completed at a PINJ-approved sponsoring agency.  See the list of approved sponsoring agencies.
  7. Assessment Fees for CDA training taken online will not be paid.
  8. The Council for Professional Recognition now accepts CDA Assessment applications on a rolling basis. There are no more quarterly deadlines. For more information, go to http://www.cdacouncil.org/yourcda.
  9. Candidates must apply for the scholarship in order to receive funds. NO REIMBURSEMENTS ARE AVAILABLE.
  10. FUNDS ARE LIMITED AND ARE NOT GUARANTEED.
  11. Scholarship recipients MUST submit to the NJ Registry a copy of their CDA Credential OR a denial letter from the Council for Professional Recognition once received. Documentation may be submitted by:

  12. Failure to submit a copy of the CDA Credential OR a denial letter from the Council for Professional Recognition will require that the scholarship recipient pay back the $425.00 CDA Assessment Fee to Professional Impact NJ. You will not be eligible for any additional funding from Professional Impact NJ until the $425.00 Assessment Fee is repaid in full.
